Thoughts

  • The super bowl is on.  My brother Mike is in New Orleans at a party with his work buddies.  He doesn't have to go to work until 10 tomorrow.  Let the good times roll!
  • I like the commercials, but really, 2 men in underwear commercials in a row?
  • Tom got me an ipod touch today- woot!  I'm so excited to get set up.
  • Tom took the upstairs toilet apart today so that now I can remove the paper behind the toilet.  It appears as though when those who painted over the paper painted, they did not take the toilet apart.
  • We actually needed the diaper sprayer today (twice)- which was no longer in service due to the toilet being taken apart.  Weston thought that was HILARIOUS.
  • We have a little boy who is starting to walk holding hands, until he realizes what he is doing.  I love him.
  • Next weekend is a big party weekend (4 birthdays to celebrate!).  I need to get organized and make sure I have purchased everything we need.  Tim will help with the rest of the shopping.
  • I want to finish stripping the bathroom this week so that we can prep it for skim coating and painting even though I have NO IDEA as to what color I want.

Progress.

Date night

Tonight was date night for Tom and I.  It marks the first time we've gone out with somebody other than our parents watching Weston.  He was asleep, so all the babysitter had to do was listen to the monitor.  This afternoon, I cleaned the downstairs bathroom, picked up the kitchen and family room, wrote out the emergency numbers and confirmed our dinner reservation.

Our babysitter is the daughter of a friend from our old church- we visited with her a couple weeks ago so that Weston could meet her and she could see us, our house, etc.  She reminds me of me when I was that age.  I like her.  Tonight she arrived promptly and Weston was already asleep.  We left, had dinner at a delightful restaurant <5 minutes from our house including a delicious bottle of Pino Grigio capped off with a chocolate trio.  (AHHH!)  She has now gone home and we are alone at the house again.  Weston made "little nice noises" that the babysitter could hear through the monitor, but didn't have any trouble!

Tom and I got some alone time without a monitor (although I kept my phone handy).  Weston may be nearly a year old and it has taken us long enough to get to this point- but it was well worth it.  A little reconnection goes a long way.

We'll call her again.

11 month photos

Who me?  Please pay no attention that I am going to stand up to the TV stand as you have told me numerous times not to do.  I'm just checking to see if you're paying attention.

I'm a blankie kinda guy.

Yes, I am that cute.  See my new shoes?  They have Velcro.   If you look closely to the left of my left leg, through the gate, you'll notice a golf club on the floor.  MY FAVORITE!

I know Weston's eyes are closed- but I think this picture is sooo cute!

Yes, I have two large top front teeth.

I'm such a silly messy boy!
